Penguins are the animal world's experts at traversing slippery snow-covered ice, and they have a few tips for helping us safely move around:

-Step down, not out from curbs
-Keeps your knees slightly bent
-Walk on snow or grass if possible
-Keep your weight forward and on your front foot
-Keep your arms out by your side to help you balance
-Walk flat footed and take short shuffling steps
-Wear footwear that provides traction
-Avoid talking on cell phones
-Use hand rails, wherever possible
-Wear proper footwear
-Maintain three points of contact when stepping out of vehicles

In the spirit of the holidays and giving back to the community!! Quiet Corner PT will be holding a toy drive for the Pediatric Oncology department at UMASS! If you feel lead please being any new and unwrapped toys to our office, located at 225 Kennedy Drive Putnam, CT 06260. The last day we will be taking toys is Decmeber 21, 2023

FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: PUTNAM BUSINESS ASSOCIATION MIXER RASIES $500 FOR UNITED SERVICES: There were 83 in attendance – a new record – at this morning’s monthly meeting of The Putnam Business Association at the Town of Putnam Municipal Complex. President Tom Borner and past President Dick Loomis presented a check for $500 to Emily Morrison, Director of Development at United Services of Connecticut. The money was raised at the PBA Mixer which was held on April 26th at The Stacks Professional Center in Putnam and featured ribbon cutting ceremonies for Savage Systems, REAL Custom Training and Quiet Corner Physical Therapy. The Putnam Business Association will launch a brand new event, International Day – Italian Fest “Ciao bella Putnam” on Saturday, June 3rd from 1 to 5 pm in downtown Putnam. The PBA will also launch another brand new event, Super Hero Day on Saturday, August 5th from 10 am to 2 pm in downtown Putnam. Both events are a partnership between the Putnam Recreation Department, the Putnam Area Foundation and the Putnam Business Association. Beth Roop gave an enthusiastic update on the PBA Pluck-a-Duck fundraiser which will be held on Monday, August 21st at 12 noon. FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: PUTNAM BUSINESS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL RIBBON CUTTING AND SPRING MIXER AT THREE LOCAL BUSINESSES: The Putnam Business Association SPRING MIXER will be held on Wednesday, April 26th from 5 to 7 pm at The Stacks located in the former Putnam Public Library, 255 Kennedy Drive in Putnam. The building is now home to Savage Systems, REAL Custom Training and Quiet Corner Physical Therapy. Admission is $5 and all proceeds go to United Services of Connecticut. The Loomis Team from RE/MAX Bell Park Realty will provide refreshments.

YOGA!
We are now offering 2 levels of Yoga at Quiet Corner PT! Chair yoga for those with balance changes or lower extremity injuries and restorative yoga for a higher level option. Classes are Tuesday evenings and alternating Saturday and Sunday mornings!! On January 28th Yoga instructor Tammy Browning will hold a FREE information session and yoga trial to see which option would be right for you. Classes are $20 per session with discounts available.
