REFLEXOLOGY
THE WAZE IN YOUR FEET :)
Yes, Waze! Why not?
Because sometimes your body knows the way better than your head.
We usually think of the feet as just the things that carry us around, practical, often tired, and rarely given much attention unless they hurt. But in Reflexology, we look at them differently. The feet hold a surprising amount of information about how you’re doing, not just physically, but emotionally too.
They’re like a real-time map, a kind of Waze for the body. Not just showing where things are located, but also where you’re holding tension, where things have slowed down, and where you may need to make a change. There’s no robotic voice saying “turn right,” but sometimes, the signals are just as clear. A tight spot might say, “you’re pushing too hard,” while a swollen area might whisper, “you’ve been carrying too much, for too long.”
As Reflexologists, we don’t diagnose, and we’re not trying to replace doctors, God forbid. What we do is listen, and feel with our hands what the body is showing us through the feet, like areas of congestion, sensitivity, coldness, or imbalance. However, we don’t label them. Instead, we respond with presence and technique, and in many cases, the body responds too, by relaxing, rebalancing, or simply letting go of what it no longer needs.
What’s interesting is that the feet often tell a story before the person does. Sometimes they show stress the person hasn’t mentioned, or areas of tension they weren’t even aware of. And often, after a session, people say things like, “I didn’t know how much I needed that,” or “I feel like myself again”, or what we usually hear: “I don’t know what you have done, but I feel great…”.
So yes, your feet are talking. They might not use words, but they know where you’ve been, how you’ve been coping, and what could help you feel better. And just like Waze, they’re constantly updating. All we have to do is pay attention, and maybe let someone trained in Reflexology help read the signals now and then.
