Hi everyone! I’ve decided I will be taking March to spend time with Calvin before he is out of the newborn stage🍼🩵

I’ll be returning to work in April, clients who opted in will get first dibs on booking (emails will be going out this week)📫

Hi everyone! It is OFFICIALLY my final week of work before maternity leave👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This has been such a life changing year and I’m so grateful to my community for the love & support we have received as we grow our little family❣️

I am also beyond proud of all my clients and humbled that you have allowed me to be part of your wellness journeys. 🌱

Today marks 4 years since I opened my private practice Koger Counseling😱🥳🥳🥳

I have known since I first experienced loss in my life that I wanted to connect with other people who felt alone, in an abyss of chaos, and help them realize their ultimate cosmic power (cue Robin Williams voice)- themselves❣️⚡️

Thank you to everyone who has worked with me & supported me in this career- my clients mean the world to me and my colleagues help me grow & learn every day🌱

Boundaries are important, especially the boundaries we hold with ourselves when no one else is around.

A big boundary people tend to struggle with is social media time - and how could you not social media has become a huge plug-in to how we connect with other people, but also a way for us to constantly face the potential of more unrest.

what would you put in a bag or basket or on top of your desk that represents things that you can do that are not connected to social media? 🧐

What helps you unplug from your phone or computer and take time for true mindfulness?

Well… by now my secret is out 🥳👽👶🏻

Many of my clients know I will be heading off to maternity leave later this winter and returning in Spring after baby boy is settled💙✨🍼

Current clients can still book sessions as usual and will get a second notice closer to my leave date!

Will & I are so excited for this next milestone and grateful to everyone’s kindness at this time🥰❣️

No matter how long I do this work, I am always surprised by the expectations people put on therapy sessions🍎

Granted, most people’s understanding of therapy is from social media- movies, tv shows, scripted therapy… and yet none of it comes close to the real thing.

There are so many things we do in therapy aside from skill building and restructuring of the brain🧠

We need a space to be human- not perfect, not fully planned, not in a role we play- just being. In the right therapy office the opportunity is there for us to be our Self🌿✨❣️

I heard the term “purse pet” this weekend- and I think it is awesome💕

With the new trend of panic attack packs and anxious girly bags, purse pets is my addition to things that help you self soothe ❣️

A purse pet is confidential- so they can listen when you need a good rant,
They are small and hopefully fun to play with.
They are a reminder that grounding skills are just one act away ✨
They are a peaceful pause, to reconnect to yourself and step back from the overwhelm of life.

‘Oh I have to…’
‘I should…’
‘I can’t….’

Who & what are perpetuating these narratives to stifle you from living an authentic life?🧐

If your self critical voice is trying to confine you, ask it- Says who? And if the answer is not deeply related to how you WANT to live your life, then it is probably less relevant than it feels ✨
