Meet Shawn Brooks, our Executive Director here at Deer Ridge Memory Care!
With 16 years in state service, an ongoing role in the Army Reserve, and a background as a caregiver for his own grandfather, Shawn brings both strength and compassion to our community. You’ll often find him lending a hand with resident care, helping staff, or just sharing time with families and residents.
Shawn’s passion is making sure seniors receive top-notch care in a warm, welcoming environment — and we’re lucky to have his leadership here at Deer Ridge!

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, we’ll be joining the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Pierce County to honor all the loved ones in our lives affected by dementia.
You can support our efforts in two meaningful ways:

Last Chance Summer Dance was such a great time at Deer Ridge! Thank you to all the families and friends who donated supplies and their time to help our ladies (and a few gentlemen) get all dressed up for the event. Our friends from the Mel Korum Family YMCA spent the day with us and helped with nails and makeup! Deer Ridge ladies loved being pampered and getting fancy, and boy did they look lovely!

This FREE event is open to everyone—no YMCA membership required. Come enjoy snacks, giveaways, exercise demos, and fall prevention tips to help you and your loved ones stay safe and strong.

Do you have any new or gently used hats, fashion scarves, costume jewelry, or even tops lying around that our ladies might enjoy? Consider donating them and possibly volunteering your time to help our ladies get fancy for the Last Chance Summer Dance on Tuesday, September 16th. We'd love for each lady to be able to choose and wear something new to her to the event if she chooses and would love assistance making this event extra special for our special seniors.
