What could be better than a warm, sunny afternoon at Bradley Park? ☀️ The residents of The Rivers at Puyallup did just that—and it was absolutely delightful! We spent the day enjoying the simple joys of the park: watching children laugh and play on the playground, dogs happily running around, kids cruising by on their bikes, and of course… plenty of geese! 🪿

We brought along some tasty snacks and ice-cold lemonade to keep things refreshing—though one curious goose almost joined us for a sip! 😄 It was a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, fresh air, and great company. Safe to say, it was a hit—and we’re already planning to come back with even more residents next time!

Edward “Ed” Santos recently celebrated his 103rd birthday, surrounded by family and friends at The Rivers at Puyallup.

Ed is a U.S. Navy veteran who served in both World War II and the Korean War. He was recently featured on FOX 13 Seattle, where he was cracking jokes and making people smile.

Those who know Ed know he’s always been someone who shows up for others, and that hasn’t changed.

We’re honored to celebrate this milestone and be part of his story. Join us in wishing Ed a very happy 103rd birthday. 🎉

On April 22nd, residents from The Rivers at Puyallup enjoyed an exciting and educational outing to the Paul H. Karshner Memorial Museum—and what a meaningful experience it was!

From the moment they arrived, everyone was immersed in a rich journey through local history, exploring fascinating artifacts and stories that brought the past to life. The museum’s roots, founded in 1930 as a heartfelt memorial, added a deeper layer of appreciation to the visit. Residents had the chance to engage with exhibits that highlight culture, art, and history, all while learning how these elements shape our community today.

This wasn’t just a tour—it was a hands-on learning experience that sparked curiosity, encouraged conversation, and celebrated the importance of preserving history for future generations. It was wonderful to see residents so engaged, asking questions, and connecting with the stories behind each display.

A day full of discovery, reflection, and shared memories—definitely one for the books!

💙 Employee Spotlight: Reegan 💙

Reegan joined The Rivers in 2023 as a server, stepping into her very first customer-facing role after previously working in a warehouse. Naturally shy growing up, she took a brave step into something new, and it’s been incredible to watch her grow.

Through her time here, Reegan has become more confident and open, building meaningful connections with the residents she serves each day. She often shares how much they brighten her day and how valued they make her feel.

What makes Reegan truly special is her heart. She not only shows up for our residents with kindness and care, but also for her teammates. She has become a mentor to new servers, guiding them with patience and support, and serving as someone they can always count on.

Reegan’s journey is a reminder of how powerful growth can be when you step outside your comfort zone. We are so grateful to have her as part of our team and are excited to watch her continue to shine. ✨

Our dining room turns into a Zumba dance floor when Dixie is here! 💃
She brings the energy, the old-school favorites, and all the moves our residents love. ❤️
Safe to say… we’re her biggest fans.

Spring was in full bloom at our Easter Tea Party today 🌸🐣

From the moment you walked in, it felt like something special—beautiful tables, fresh fruit, delicate pinwheels, chocolate-covered strawberries, cherry strudels, cupcakes, and an assortment of sweet treats (yes… including all the different flavored Peeps!). Paired with a lovely selection of teas and juices, it was the perfect way to celebrate the season together.

Moments like these—filled with laughter, connection, and a little elegance—are what make our community so special.

Rainy days may keep us indoors, but here in our Connections - Memory Care Community, they bring a special kind of warmth and connection. 💛

Our rainy days are filled with laughter, teamwork, and a little friendly competition as our residents gathered around for puzzles, a lively game of fishing, and a friendly round of ball bash. Each piece placed and every “catch” (and toss!) made sparked smiles, conversation, and moments of joy that truly matter.

These simple activities become meaningful experiences—supporting memory, encouraging engagement, and creating a sense of accomplishment. Most importantly, they remind us that even on the rainiest days, there is so much light to be found in togetherness.
