🌿 A more personal note…
Some of you know this already, but my heart has really been with families of individuals with developmental disabilities for a long time.
I’ve sat at kitchen tables with parents who are exhausted and scared. I’ve heard things like:
“I’m so afraid no one will understand my child the way I do.”
“I just want them to be safe and actually happy.”
Those conversations are a big part of why my wife and I do what we do now.
Together, with our amazing staff, we care for adults with developmental disabilities in a small home setting. As a team, we support daily routines, behaviors, calming strategies, and all the little things that make life feel more peaceful and predictable. It’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful, and we genuinely care about the families behind each person we support.
If you’re in that world right now navigating DDA, thinking about placement, worried about behaviors, or feeling burned out and guilty I get it more than you might think.
I’m always happy to share what we’ve learned as a team, talk through options, or just listen. No pressure, no “sales pitch,” just another family who understands this system and cares about your loved one’s dignity and safety.
💬 If we’re connected here and you ever need a safe place to ask questions about adult family homes, behavior support, or what good care should look like, my inbox is open.
You don’t have to figure all of this out alone. ❤️
