To the neurodivergent folks struggling right now: We see you. 🌿

There is a huge cultural pressure to "bloom" the moment the temperature hits 60 degrees. But for many neurodivergent people, spring doesn't feel like a fresh start—it feels like a sensory and physiological assault.

If you’ve noticed your anxiety spiking, your "brain fog" thickening, or your executive dysfunction reaching a breaking point lately, you aren't alone. This is the "Spring Slide," and there are real biological reasons why it happens.

Our latest article at Divergent Minds Collective explores:

Why the change in light triggers a "wired but tired" state.

The link between spring histamines and neurodivergent mental health.

Why "wintering" in spring is a radical act of autonomy against a culture that demands constant productivity.

The Good News? This transition is temporary. Summer brings a stability that spring lacks. Until then, we’re sharing actionable, low-pressure steps to help you survive the shift.

We aren't here to "fix" your seasonal response. We’re here to help you accommodate it.

Stop masking. Start belonging. 🌿
We founded Divergent Minds Collective because we were tired of a mental health system that treats neurodivergence like a problem to be solved. We believe your "weirdness" is your magic, and your therapist should be the first person to celebrate it—not try to "fix" it.
But we didn’t just build this for clients. We built it for the healers, too. We believe clinicians deserve a space to build their own unique brand without the burnout of solo practice.
We built this cooperative with love, right here in Puyallup for greater Washington State. Whether you’re looking for a therapist who truly gets it, or you’re a practitioner looking for your tribe—we have a seat at the table for you.
✨ Now accepting new clients & practitioner members. 🔗 Reach out at divergentmindscollective.org/contact to meet our providers or view membership tiers.

🚩 Is your therapist actually neuro-affirming, or just "neuro-aware"?

Searching for a therapist is exhausting. But for us, the stakes are higher. Too many of us have walked into a consultation only to realize three sessions later that our therapist is trying to "fix" our stimming, "correct" our communication, or pathologize our sensory needs.

That isn’t therapy; it’s a compliance trap. 🛑

At Divergent Minds Collective, we believe you deserve a space where you can finally take the mask off. But how do you know if a therapist is actually safe for your nervous system before you book that first session?

We’ve put together a guide of 5 (plus one!) meaty questions to ask during your next consultation, including:

🧠 How do you define neurodiversity? (Looking for the social model vs. the medical model).

These aren’t just interview questions; they are tools for professional autonomy and your own emotional safety. 🛡️

Whether you’re just starting your search or looking for a better fit, don’t settle for being "managed." Find a partner who celebrates your brain.

📢 To the clinician tired of the 60/40 split: There’s a better way to practice.
If you’re currently in a group practice, you’ve likely done the math. When a practice takes 40% (or more) of your client fee, you aren’t just paying for an office or a biller—you’re often subsidizing a hierarchy that doesn’t give you a seat at the table.

For many neurodiversity-affirming therapists, the dream of solo practice is about more than just money; it’s about the freedom to practice without burnout, the autonomy to set your own vision, and the desire to work in a space that actually mirrors your values.

But going solo can be incredibly isolating.

That’s why we built Divergent Minds Collective (DMC).
We are a member-owned and governed service cooperative. We aren’t a "group practice" in the traditional sense. We are a collective of independent business owners who have pooled our resources to create the infrastructure we all need, without the exploitation.

Why are we doing this? DMC was founded in direct opposition to exploitative business models. We believe that therapists shouldn't have to choose between a massive pay cut and professional isolation.

What does membership actually look like?

Keep Your Autonomy: You own your business and your vision. We provide the community and the scaffold.

Professional Community: Access to a private directory, member-exclusive networking, and a Discord community of like-minded, identity-affirming peers.

Shared Growth: We offer facilitated peer consultation, business-building support groups, and even body-doubling sessions to help with the "admin heavy" side of things.

Professional Security: From professional will support to discounted clinical supervision, we look out for each other.

Our Roadmap: Competitive Rates and the BHA 2026
One of our biggest goals is the launch of our Behavioral Health Agency (BHA) in April 2026. By banding together as a cooperative, we are building the collective power to negotiate insurance reimbursement rates that actually reflect the high-quality, specialized care you provide—rates that are usually out of reach for solo practitioners.

Is this for you?
If you’re ready to stop being an "employee" and start being a member-owner, we’d love to talk. Whether you’re looking to launch your first private practice or you’re a solo provider looking for a "social shell" that protects your business, DMC is here to help you thrive.

📩 Let’s start a conversation.
We’re currently accepting new members who share our vision for affirming, integrated care. No sales pitches—just a community of therapists building a more equitable future.
