SOURDOUGH APPLE CIDER CINNAMON ROLLS. Sourdough cinnamon rolls are already the best kind of cinnamon rolls but add in diced apples simmered in apple butter and heavily spiced? 🍎 so much fall flavor goodness! Cream cheese frosting is a must of course. Recipe from simplicityandstarter.com only adjustment I made was substituting 100 grams of whole-wheat white flour in because I ran out of bread flour and I cooked my apples in apple butter because I didn’t have enough apple cider!

First PSL of the season and it’s scratch made 😍🎃😍🎃 I looked through some recipes using pumpkin purée online for approximate ratios and landed on 2 heaping Tbsp pumpkin purée, generous dashes of black pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg, vanilla, 1 Tbsp sugar, 3/4 c whole milk. Cooked the pumpkin, spices, and vanilla over medium heat ~3 minutes. Add in sugar and continue to cook. Slowly pour in milk, whisking to mix, and steam over low heat for ~5 minutes (I believe this simmer really concentrated the flavors). I tasted it and added more vanilla and some maple syrup to get the flavor more intense before steaming it in my espresso machine and adding 2 shots of espresso. MAKE THIS. It is worth the 10 extra minutes 😋 like drinking pie 🤤🤤🤤

Market lunch! Brought to you by S. Clyde Weavers, Crowded Kitchen, my wonderful neighbor who made the yummiest homemade mustard, and me! Baked a loaf of sourdough sandwich bread this morning, filled with smoked turkey, cooper sharp cheese, slather of Pinot Grigio mustard, paired with this Smokey Salmorejo soup. Yum yum yum 😚👌

It may be spring time but I’m still craving the warm, cozy vibes of fall, especially on drizzly days like today. Grilled apple slices tossed in cinnamon and a sprinkle of brown sugar, topped with dollops of my FAVORITE yogurt. This was heavenly! If you are local to Lancaster, grab some Pequea Valley Yogurt wherever you can find it, we get ours weekly at the Maplehofe Dairy Stand at Central Market and Stauffers of Kissel Hill.

Before and after ➡️ transforming some kale into a delicious salad! Working with kale can be a little daunting but here are my tried and true tips to make it a delicious base for your favorite salad toppings:
1️⃣ take each leaf of kale and carefully wash under running water, gently massaging to clean and begin tenderizing each leaf
2️⃣ strip the leaves from their stem by grabbing the base of the stem, pinch, and pull the leaves right off in one motion
3️⃣ SOAK the stripped leaves in ice water for 30 min, this will take limp, lifeless leaves and make them super crisp and fresh, DO NOT SKIP!
4️⃣ chop up your crispy leaves and add in your favorite dressing, tossing to coat thoroughly. You can leave them tossed in dressing overnight for a more tender bite
5️⃣ add your favorite toppings, my favorite lately has been roasted carrots, goat cheese, and walnuts on a bed of balsamic vinegar tossed kale

Aren’t these the most beautiful patty pan squash?? You can find some of the best seasonal foods at your local farmers markets. We’re lucky to live right next to the nations oldest continuously running farmers market, Lancaster Central Market is a gem. Patty Pans from Groff’s and Norwegian salmon from Mr. Bills for dinner tonight 😋

Yes, that’s correct, two chocolate peanut butter posts in a row 🤪 The idea popped into my head to make some peanut butter cups since I had the two necessary ingredients. Melted down some dark chocolate chips in silicone muffin cups, added a dollop of PB to the center, chilled in the freezer for 15 minutes, then added more melted chocolate to the top. The results are an intense chocolate PB cup without added sugar beyond what’s in the dark chocolate!
