⭐️ Welcome Kris! ⭐️

Kris Ombasa, LAPC, recently joined us at Morning Star Counseling and we are thrilled he’s here. Kris works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, grief and life transitions. He says “whether you’re a teenager navigating overwhelming emotions, a young adult exploring your identity, or a couple trying to reconnect, I bring a compassionate and direct approach to help you move toward healing.”

Kris has a Master’s degree in Counseling, with internship training that focused on working with children and adolescents. He is “passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate the formation of their identity, emotional regulation, and shifting relationships.” Kris says that for adults, therapy can be a space to untangle long-standing patterns, reconnect with your values, and find greater ease in daily life.

He has an integrative and responsive style and uses various modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy. He can work with diverse clients using all of these different modalities no matter what you’re working on with him.
Kris is also trained in spiritual approaches and can incorporate meaning-making, mindfulness, and inner wisdom into the work if that aligns with your values.

He says “above all, I believe that therapy should be a safe, collaborative, and empowering experience. Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk with you as you take steps toward healing and wholeness.”.

Kris accepts Aetna, Capital Blue Cross, Highmark, and Luminare insurances, and also welcomes self-pay clients.

Kris is scheduling in our Quarryville and Lancaster offices, as well as videotherapy.

Have you heard of Neurofeedback?!

We are now offering it at Morning Star! Meg Boudreau explains why clients do it and how it works. A major reason people use it is for emotional regulation. It is non-invasive and you’re training your brain to use more of your prefrontal cortex & use a focused pause to breathe instead of reacting right away. It can help you become more adaptable and quiet your nervous system.

Let us know what specific questions you have and follow along as Meg shares more information about it!

If you’re interested in scheduling neurofeedback sessions with Meg, or individual or couples therapy with any of our other trusted therapists, head to our website: morningstarllc.org or give our Care Coordinator Team a call at 717-806-5050 to learn about beginning therapy with any of our therapists.
