We held our St. Patricks' Day party last Friday, March 13 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home. We served green lucky charms rice Krispy treats, lime punch and homemade ice cream. We distributed hats, necklaces and the gift of gab sharing the Legend of the Blarney stone as told by Ms. Bette. We played pitch the coins of gold into the hat and listened to music. We had a grand 'ole time!

We will have Lucky Charms Rice Krispy treats, green sherbet punch, green ice cream, games to play, kiss the blarney stone and Irish Song Sing a long!

Schuyler County Community Relief Fund

This is a wonderful group in Schuyler County who have financially assisted almost 100 families with funding who have diagnosed with Cancer. Feel free to download the application/flier as needed. We had old fashion sundaes in the dining hall at 3pm today at the Schuyler County Nursing Home. I did not get photos as my helper was out on a medical transport run. But, I got some help from Mr. Larry Ross, thank you! Thank you to Terry Morgan for getting the parts and getting our ice cream machine going again! We served up over 50 sundaes including some of the staff with all the trimmings! Have a good weekend from the residents and staff.

We celebrated our February birthdays today with homemade chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing made by Ms. Taryn. We also played bingo. Happy birthday to Mr. John A., Mr. Larry B., Ms. Betty A., Mr. Ted K., and Ms. Phyllis S.!

Thank you to Mr. Terry Morgan and his daughter Reba for getting the parts to repair our ice cream machine and getting the ice cream mix, it was yummy! Thanks Mr. Chris, in the kitchen for getting the mix going and Ms. Taryn for cleaning the machine after we were done.

We made pinecone bird feeders with peanut butter this morning and Ms. Taryn hung them about the facility, leaving most of them out front of the dining hall. Thank you for the supply donation Karan and Vick Farrell.

Have a nice evening from the residents and staff at the Schuyler County Nursing Home.

We had our Bingo store last Friday. Another hit with St. Paddys Day prizes of hats, necklaces, earrings and scarfs. We had our regular supply of beauty items of body sprays, and lotions. All the clothes were free for everyone. The residents used their bingo points to purchase the other items. Thank you to Ms. Teena for making a huge chocolate Texas sheet cake and serving it at the store.

Ms. Denise, Mr. John A. dtr. and his spouse had a John Deere tractor theme party in the Activities room on Saturday. They served up cupcakes and snacks and played co****le game. Thank you Allen family!

Ms. Rose checked out new books on Thursday at the Schuyler County Library. The library also donated about 30 new large print books to add to our library! Thank you!

We will be planning our St. Paddys Day Party and have an Activity where we are going to make homemade ham and potato soup next month, March is almost here and Spring, yah!

Thank you to the Schuyler PEO and AT Still University Grant and Research Dept for boh delivering homemade valentines cards to our residents.

Thank you to the Schuyler County Rotary Club for hand delivering chocolate valentines to our resdients on February 12th and providing sugar free chocolates for our diabetic residents.

Thank you to Judge Kelly Lovekemp for the chocolate covered strawberries that were served to the residents on Saturday, Valentine day!

We had our Valentine Day party on Friday, February 13. We crowned Mr. Allen and Ms. Rachel King and Queen elected by the SCNH staff. We had a guessing jar, played pass my heart with clothes pins, Valentine tic tac toe and sang Love songs. We served the homemade sugar cookies made on Wednesday and served love potion #9 cotton candy drinks! We had a "love"ly time! Thank you for helping me out Ms. Denise from the office.

We baked and decorated over 8 dozen Valentines day cookies today for the party coming up Friday. The residents got to eat at least one after they decorated it. We will be crowning a King and Queen at the Valentines party (staff are voting on the winners). We have a guessing jar for whomever comes closet to the winning number to take home games, Karaoke fun and Valentines to pass out at the party Friday!

Moots Karaoke came Friday, January 30 to entertain us. They did a great job as always.

We held our January birthday party this afternoon. We served up cupcakes, homemade frosted cookies donated from Blueberry Bakery, thank you, and blue Hawaiian punch topped with a scoop of ice cream. We sang along to karaoke tunes from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s! Ms. Lynn, Mr. Ronnie, Mr. Eugene, Ms. Donna and Ms. JoAnn J. all celebrated birthdays this month!

We had a big crowd at bingo this morning and played again at 2:30. There was a schedule change for our January birthday party which we will take place tomorrow. Thank you Ms. Teena for working with Complete Family Medicine and getting us a nice donation of snow globes and fake snow to do a winter/Valentine craft with. What should we put in them? Maybe a snowman and hearts with part of them and then Ms. Teena suggested flowers, butterflies, bunnies and/or Easter eggs for Easter/Spring?

We will have Moots Karaoke on Friday at 2:30 and the public is welcome to attend!
