February Hiking Club: Wind Cave
We’re heading out to Usery Mountain for a steady 3.2-mile roundtrip hike with about 1,000 feet of elevation gain. It’s a solid climb, but the views at the top are worth it.
We’ll take our time, stop at the cave to rest and snack, and enjoy some quiet desert air before heading back down.
Saturday, February 21

Bring water, good shoes, and $10 for park entry.
See you at the trailhead.

Who taught you not to trust yourself?
For many of us, it wasn’t one dramatic moment. It was repetition. Being told we were wrong. Too sensitive. Overreacting. Imagining things. Slowly, we learned to override our instincts.
And after enough of that… we stopped listening to ourselves.
In this week’s teaching and chakra meditation, Melissa walks through how self-trust gets dismantled — and how we begin restoring it. From grounding into safety at the root to opening intuition at the third eye, this practice helps you reconnect with the wisdom already living in your body.
You don’t need to become someone new.
You need to remember who you were before you were told not to trust yourself.

This week’s meditation is centered around trust.
The kind that grows slowly. The kind that lives in your body before it ever becomes a thought.
When we’ve experienced hurt or rejection, the nervous system stores that information. Sometimes it shows up as hesitation. Sometimes as guardedness. Sometimes as tension we don’t even realize we’re carrying.
In this class, Melissa reflects on fear of rejection, boundaries, and the small moments where we practice connection anyway. The meditation works with breath and heartbeat to help regulate the body and create steadiness from within.
There’s something grounding about remembering that you can sit with yourself and feel stable there.

The ZenLife Center for Healing owner, Melissa J Seil-Butler, has dedicated her life to uplifting those around her.
Melissa has worked in the health and wellness field since 2001. Melissa was guided down a path of food and nutrition because of the needs of her father who was a diabetic, and her son who had food sensitivities. These needs led her to a better understanding of how our bodies need basic elements to create balance. Through the course of her adult life, finding peace in her own yoga and meditation practice, her passion to help others has only continued to grow.
In late 2016, Melissa’s life took an unexpected turn of events leaving her with many unanswered questions as to how someone who seemed to have everything together in the areas of health and nutrition, along with a great mindfulness & physical yoga practice could get hot so hard when life gets turned upside down. But those events blessed her life in ways she never could have imagined. Finding yet another way to help others by getting to the root cause of much of our pain & suffering, which can even be developed from the time we enter this world, she entered the world of Hypnotherapy and Rapid Eye Technology along with her energy work with Reiki and Frequency healing.
In July of 2020, the unexpected opportunity to purchase ZenLife Yoga Studio arose. This aligned perfectly, incorporating Melissa’s gifts for healing others and transforming the yoga studio into a center for healing for the community. Melissa reopened the business in October 2020 as The ZenLife Center for Healing. In addition to studio yoga classes, the center offers Reiki Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Sound Therapy, Meditation Classes, Skills for Life Classes and specialty workshops and events.
Through this multifaceted healing center, Melissa continues to be dedicated to the betterment of those she works with through all of her teachings and modalities.
