Birdie’s Basics offers a wide variety of handmade soaps, lotions, scrubs and lip balms. All my soaps are made in small batches overflowing with fabulous oils like olive, coconut, rice bran, sweet almond, avocado, castor and sunflower. Each bar of soap is hand-cut and hand-wrapped to ensure quality. I started marking my own soap during my quest to reduce the amount of toxic chemicals I subject myself and my family to. It’s disgusting to learn what is in a typical bar of soap bought at a grocery store or even at the popular body shops. It's not even real soap! Generally, the commercial soaps carried at these stores are full of chemical additives and synthetic detergents. These ingredients not only dry out your skin but can also be the cause of a rash or other skin irritation. I don’t want to put that on my skin to be absorbed into my body! My soaps go back to the basics! There is no need for all the harmful additions. Handmade soap is a gentle cleanser that is actually good for your skin.
