Our Lovely patient has had a series of Hydracial/ Dermaplane treatments w .rad.esti , started incorporating a retinol every night and Went through Q-switch Laser Treatments with to target her pigmentation and this is what we were able to accomplish!

What are Q switch lasers?

Q-switched lasers are highly effective for treating skin concerns like pigmentation, tattoos, and melasma, and they are particularly suitable for Asian and darker skin types. Here’s why:

⚪️Short, High-Energy Pulses: Q-switched lasers emit light in ultra-short nanosecond pulses with high energy. These pulses create a photomechanical effect that breaks down targeted pigment particles without significantly heating the surrounding tissue..

⚪️Selective Photothermolysis: They target specific chromophores (like melanin or tattoo ink) while sparing surrounding skin structures. This minimizes the risk of collateral damage.

⚪️Wavelength Options: Common wavelengths include 532 nm (for superficial pigmentation) and 1064 nm (for deeper pigmentation). The 1064 nm wavelength penetrates deeply while bypassing the skin’s surface layers, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).

⚪️Non-Ablative Action:
Q-switched lasers are non-ablative, meaning they don’t remove layers of skin. This is safer for darker skin, as ablative treatments can increase the risk of scarring or uneven pigmentation.

⚪️Precision:
The short pulses target pigmentation without causing widespread thermal damage, making them effective for treating conditions like melasma, freckles, and post-inflammatory pigmentation common in darker skin.

⚪️Stimulates Collagen:
Beyond pigmentation, Q-switched lasers can also improve skin texture and tone by stimulating collagen production, offering additional benefits for overall skin rejuvenation.
