“Let’s do what we can do. I want to do my part, but I can’t do it alone. Saving the planet is not only the work of specialized groups. It depends on each one of us to care enough to do something. Without individual effort, it won’t happen anywhere. However, if we can change our attitude just a little, that path would be clearer.”

"In meditation I experience “the world is so big and my boat is so small,” but I’m not frightened or paralyzed by the bigness. I feel held. I am in the small space of the life I have been given within that bigness. In a sense, as I invoke the Divine – or whatever you choose to call it- before that largeness, I feel I’m in a sacred space where I can be quiet and hear my deepest thoughts and feelings."

"I don’t want to be pushed or pulled, that seems to indicate a lack of self, or a personal choice to move this way or that way. Instead I look for an internal, intuitive knowing of what direction to take. I check my internal compass and sometimes it doesn’t seem to make sense, but I’ve learned to trust it."

"Getting to know myself is an important part of accepting life as it is. This self-knowledge helps me to create a reality based on my authentic self. To do this, I need something to replace the personas that I no longer want to identify with. I have no use for the Judge and the Resister. The Pleaser and the Blamer have no place in how I want to experience life. Excusing away responsibility no longer works for me."

"Eclipse and eclipse-watcher become one. Fear and anxiety are transformed into awe and wonder. Objective knowledge is tempered with respect and reverence. And finally, an insight into the mystery of life is revealed. Beneath the Moon’s shadow, the “introspective seeker” was able to catch a glimpse of unity─the oneness of the light of the human spirit within each of us and the light of the streaming solar corona 93 million miles away.”

“Despite
My soul is sore, it is bruised, but it continues to be nourished.
I’ll always have a constant fear, yet I have chosen not to live with it.
My roots are long AND luxurious, they continue to grow.
I have the memory engraved forever.
I am incessantly MAGNANIMOUS.
My life is not perfect, nor will it ever be.
I am endlessly ABUNDANT!” - Emily Beile

That’s the moment when you choose to face your mistakes and grow from them. There are plenty of unhelpful ways to deal with failure—and one of them is playing the Blame Game. It’s easier to shift the fault onto others and dodge responsibility. You might even become quite good at coming up with reasons that distance you from the error. But over time, you begin to see that this is a way of turning your back on reality. And in doing so, you’re not just denying what happened—you’re also missing a chance to truly learn and evolve.

"What should we do in the face of pain? Should we resign ourselves to it or deny it? What is the meaning of sacrifice in relation to pain?
Generally speaking, sacrifice is an offering when we embrace pain out of love of God and beg for His assistance. This traditional view of sacrifice is when we choose to suffer a mortification that we could avoid. It also could be expressed as offering our lives with an altruistic intention."

“It is my view that through the practice of meditation, the soul can encounter unrealized, as yet undeveloped affective states of awareness such as desolation felt by those who suffer, disattachment from what I cling to in life, making choices about how to live integrated with my intention to love, feelings of consolation, and joy, to name a few. These affective states of awareness are integral to meditation practice in Cafh.”

“An inner compass is the process of being aware of my actions and choices that are guided by a heartfelt point of reference that is deeply rooted in the interior of my being. On an actual compass the dial moves in four directions: North, South, East and West. The dial of my inner compass consistently points in one direction. The compass always moves toward discovering, in any given moment, situation or interaction, how to be open and to live life fully and with love.”
