This is heuristic play (a “treasure basket”) and it’s one of the simplest ways to support development at home.

✅ Encourages independent exploration
✅ Builds attention + problem-solving
✅ Supports fine motor + language (as you name what they touch)

Try it: offer 8–12 safe objects with different textures (wood, metal, fabric). Sit close, observe, and describe—no need to “teach.”
