Our PHH Annual Luncheon wasn’t just a gathering, it was a powerful tribute to progress, purpose, and the incredible strength of community.

For over 10 years, this event has been a vital part of our mission to transform healthcare in Haiti through nursing education. And this year’s luncheon reminded us just how far we’ve come & how much is possible when we move forward together.

We were deeply proud to honor the legendary Dr. Jean William “Bill” Pape for his visionary public health leadership. His son, Vincent Pape, accepted the award with a presence and humility that touched every heart in the room.

From stirring speeches to the outpouring of generosity, we are filled with gratitude. Your support directly fuels the training of Haitian nurse practitioners — the future leaders who will continue to elevate care and access for their communities.

Thank you for standing with us. For believing. For being part of the movement.

Leveraging Collaboration to Impact Haiti
Reflections from a Conversation with Haitians at Harvard and Beyond
Hosted by: Haitians at Harvard™ Harvard Kennedy School

This conference was a powerful reminder that change is built together—through leadership, service, and community. Here are 5 reflections Promoting Health in Haiti is carrying forward:

1. Leadership in Action
Leadership doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it’s quiet, intentional, and deeply rooted in trust. One story shared about a man who resolved an issue so seamlessly that no one even needed to ask questions showed what humble leadership really looks like.

2. The Power of Representation
Dr. Solanges Vivens reminded us that representation is revolutionary. Her impact spans media, health, and philanthropy—and she’s using her voice to uplift the next generation of Haitian women. Her success is shared, not solo.

3. Staying Grounded in Gratitude
Moments of thanks and quiet recognition flowed throughout the event. Gratitude stood out as a powerful connector—bridging generations, leaders, and movements.

4. Empowerment Through Service
Service isn’t a sidebar, it’s the strategy. We heard stories of food distribution, marches, and rebuilding efforts that planted seeds of real change. Hope here isn’t naïve…it’s active.

5. Strength in Community
From the energy in the room to the applause after each story, one thing was clear: building a better Haiti isn’t a solo mission. It’s a community project.

6. Rebuilding with Intention
Dr. Lindsey Beauboeuf reminded us that the most important question isn’t just what we build—but how we build it. In her moving talk, she asked: “How do we build a foundation on which we can create this healthcare system?” Her words were a call to move beyond quick fixes and instead dream boldly, design thoughtfully, and lay the groundwork for something lasting. A system rooted in dignity, not just delivery.

Our hearts are with the people of Port-au-Prince and the incredible team at GHESKIO, who continue to serve on the front lines of an unimaginable humanitarian crisis.

As institutions collapse and communities suffer, GHESKIO remains a beacon of resilience, compassion, and courage — showing up with strength and humanity when the world looks away.

This is more than a crisis. It is a call to conscience. A call to all of us who believe in justice, dignity, and the sanctity of human life. We cannot afford to be silent.

At Promoting Health in Haiti (PHH), we are proud to stand beside GHESKIO in their tireless fight for health equity and human rights in Haiti. At our recent PHH luncheon, we were honored to celebrate and elevate GHESKIO’s powerful legacy by honoring Dr. Jean William Pape, a global leader in public health and the founder of GHESKIO.

Through moving speeches, meaningful dialogue, and a deep sense of shared mission, we uplifted GHESKIO’s critical work and reminded our community of the importance of standing in solidarity with Haiti.

PHH has long supported GHESKIO’s Gheskio mission, and we will continue to do so — not just in words, but in action.

We thank the GHESKIO Gheskio team for their unwavering commitment to Haiti and to humanity. You continue to embody courage in the face of chaos, and hope in the midst of hardship. We see you. We support you. And we will not stay silent.

Now is the time to act.
