While twists and turns often hold a negative connotation and feel like an unpredictable and inevitable part of our lives, they are also extremely beneficial and essential to our health. ➰️
Some of the many benefits of twisting postures include...

*Improving digestive function
*Stimulating blood circulation *Destressing
*Releasing tension in the abdomen
*Maintaining spinal mobility
*Detoxification
*Reducing back pain
*Energizing the body

In twisting asanas, the movement in the spine is like a gradual upward spiral. How can you bring this same uplifting feeling to your life? Twisting gives us the chance to experience the moment from a new perspective... A "plot twist" on the mat and in life can open us up to new opportunities and experiences. Even when they bring less than favorable outcomes to our lives, it is important to remember that just as we can get ourselves into a twist, we can carefully and mindfully exit the twist as well... A suble reminder of our power to control our own path toward positivity and light. πŸ•‰

Sthira Sukham Asanum:
Patanjali's Yoga Sutras describe as a balance between steadiness and ease. Too much effort or too much ease and it becomes something else altogether. While this is relevant in our asana practice, it also holds true in life when we step off of the mat. To live a happy, fulfilling, and healthy life, we must find balance in all things around us and within us. In our relationships, at work, in fitness and health, our emotional well-being, and our time, we balance life as a beautiful dance between holding on and letting go... between steadiness and ease. Holding this mantra in our hearts allows us to mindfully set our intentions and manifest a peaceful life with a healthy and happy balance in all things within us and around us.
