WOW!!! Today, April 3, 2024 is the 1 year anniversary of Southern Adirondack Family Health-NP's Opening!! The year has flown by, and we are growing every day!!

Our staff is amazing, and we are very blessed to have each and every one of them!! To Debbie, Cathy, Andrea, Jackie, and Marci, THANK YOU!! We could not have done this without all of you, and we are very grateful for all that you have done for SAFH!!

Prior to our opening, Andrea, our nurse, was planning on retiring, but agreed to give us 1 year so we could get established. Well, today is 1 year, and also Andrea's last day😞! We are very sad to see her leave, but we are also very excited for her as she officially retires after more than 40 years of nursing service!! Andrea exemplifies what it means to serve others, and we are so fortunate to have had her as our nurse, colleague, and friend!! Although "retiring", Andrea will still be a part of the SAFH family and staff and will occasionally be here to cover when needed. THANK YOU, Andrea!! We wish you the very best in your retirement!!

With Andrea's scheduled retirement, we searched and searched (and searched some more), for the right person to fill her position. It was not easy, and we interviewed several very qualified people, and we are very pleased to announce that we have added Marisa Walls to the SAFH team!! Marisa comes to us with a solid patient care background and will be a great member of the team!! Welcome to SAFH Marisa!!

Prior to, and since we opened, we have had a tremendous amount of support from friends, family, our amazing staff, and our patients!! Kathleen and I would like to thank everyone for your support and patience. We wouldn't be here without you!!

Hello everyone. It has been a while since we have posted, and we wanted to update you on what has been going on at SAFH. First and foremost, we have been very busy!! That is just what we wanted, and we are very excited to see our patient numbers grow. Over the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays, our patients brought us more food and gifts than we knew what to do with and we are very appreciative of their generosity and support. The sled and the clock are of just two of the many gifts our patients brought us!!
The staff presented Kathleen and Steve the “Southern Adirondack Family Health Established 2023” sign and we love it! We really do have the best staff!! In the November 16 – 21, 2023 edition, Editor Mark Frost, of The Chronicle featured an article about SAFH and how we got started. The article was amazing, and we sincerely appreciate the time Mark took with us. Thank you, Mark!!

SAFH has also started a new treatment program for “Treatment Resistant Depression” or TRD. Spravato is the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adult patients with two forms of challenging-to-treat major depressive disorder (MDD), 1) Adults with MDD who’ve had an inadequate response to Two or more anti-depressants, known as TRD and, 2) Depressive symptoms in adults with MDD with suicidal thoughts or actions (MDSI). We are very excited to be offering this to our patients that can benefit from this medication, and we are also taking referrals from other providers!
