My dreams are coming true!
I have fantasized about having RAW dairy in my diet for a long time.
Yes, that’s right. RAW DAIRY!
But what about pathogens?
But what about sanitation, you ask?
Raw dairy is one of the most nutrient dense foods you can consume with high vitamin A, vitamin D, probiotics and despite what some may say, gut healing properties.
When it comes from a pasture-fed animal and milked with sanitation measures, it is safe.
Once it leaves the cow or goat or sheep it can be exposed to pathogens due to contamination’s in the kitchen, so it is important to take care of raw dairy. I watched the whole process of milking to the jar and I recommend that. Now it is my responsibility to keep it clean.
In my opinion, pasteurized milk is more harmful than raw milk because pasteurization removes the nutrients of the milk and actually makes it harder to digest.
Lactose-intolerance comes from the lack of the enzyme lactase which is needed to digest dairy.
Raw milk can actually increase the production of lactase in the gut, helping build dairy intolerance.
Anything that helps build food tolerances (aka reduce food sensitivities) is helping heal the gut.
Before you run out and start chugging raw milk to cure your lactose intolerance, talk a practitioner familiar with gut health!
I went from dreaming of dancing on Broadway to dreaming of drinking raw milk and I could not be happier.
Real food makes me happy and healthy and minimizes my need for supplements.
