Dr. Jessica Dimmick is the founder of Hearing Doctors of Iowa, Inc and Hearing Doctors of Illinois, Inc. A Midwest native, she grew up in Augusta, a small farming community in West Central Illinois. She attended Southeastern High School and worked in her family’s small-town grocery store until graduation. Following a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders at Western Illinois University, a doctorate degree in audiology was earned at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
The passion for treating hearing loss stemmed from interest in hearing aids while studying speech and hearing science. “Once I saw the impact of an audiologist on patients, I couldn’t get enough! They brought patients back to their family, the things they loved, and back to their life.” Observations in clinical rotations at KU included a broad range of settings. Thousands of hours of opportunity to learn different facets of how an audiologist could practice still led Dr. Dimmick to private practice and eventually clinic ownership. As a military spouse of a combat Veteran, Dr. Dimmick specifically felt the calling to carve out Veteran’s services as unique component of clinic offering. At Hearing Doctors, it is our mission to reach every person who needs us. We make a difference every day.
“Treating patients with a long-term health condition like hearing loss is a process that deserves to be done right. Better hearing means a better life!”
Outside of leading the teams at Hearing Doctors of Iowa and Illinois, Dr. Dimmick enjoys her husband Sam and the company of their pets, Max, Mia, and KitKat. Her love of history has led to a penchant for antiquing, as well as restoration of a historic home in Augusta. She also enjoys cooking, wine, and cooking with wine!
Dr. Lexi Niemann Kirner was born and raised in Quincy, IL. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Truman State University, she went on to obtain her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of South Alabama. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings including private practice, ENT clinics, children's rehabilitation centers, and multi-specialty clinics. She holds her certificate of clinical competence in audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Dr. Kirner is licensed in the states of Illinois and Missouri.
Dr. Kirner's clinical interests include evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing loss in the adult population. She is passionate about the overall well-being of each patient and strives to meet their individual needs. Her goal is to help her patients stay active and engaged in their daily activities. She is happy to be back in her hometown and enjoys making an impact in her local community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her husband's sporting events, and riding horses.
Together we hope to provide our patients with compassionate care. When patients work with the right specialist in treating hearing loss, they often find solutions to improve their situation. This prognosis frequently is life changing. “Hearing loss is a barrier to communication, and it impacts every aspect of your daily life,” says Dr. Jessica Rhodes Dimmick. “My motto is ‘better hearing, better life.’ It’s that simple.”
