July 22 is World Brain Day, and with that MainStreet wants to give some quick tips for preserving your brain's health
1. Exercise - Studies have shown that exercise can not only improve physical health, but slows brain aging and can improve memory retention.
2. Diet - Similarly, diet not only affects physical health, but plays a huge factor in brain health as well. Compounds like Antioxidants and Omega-3 Fatty Acids have been shown to improve brain function.
3. Mental Stimulation - The brain craves mental stimulation and activity. Reading, playing puzzle games, or learning new skills such as another language or playing musical instruments have all been shown to activate different parts of the brain and keep your brain active and healthy.
