Loving a drug addict or an active alcoholic is the hardest thing you will ever do. Watching someone you love, who has fought so hard to beat addiction, throw everything away and sink back into a life that will most likely lead to jail or death, is one of the hardest things you will ever do. All you wanted was to help them back to a clean and sober life but you realize by doing this, as you have before, will now just be enabling them because it will show them that you will always be there to bail them out. You want to grab and shake them and say "What are you doing?!?!" But, at some point you realize that it wouldn't make a difference. So you sit back and watch the tragedy unfold, as if you are watching a movie. Feeling helpless to stop it, feeling like you haven't done enough to help, even though you know only the addict can help themselves. Having to disconnect yourself from them to save yourself from plunging into the abyss with them. It’s one of the hardest things you will ever experience. You love them from afar and keep praying that they will find their way. Battling a drug and/or an alcohol addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them. So l am asking you to stand with me in prayer for every family member and friend who has lost or is losing their battle with drugs and alcohol and those who continue to conquer it!
September is National Recovery Month! Put this on your page for one hour if you know someone who has or had an addiction. Many will be hesitant to!!! Some of you won't, but I think I know the ones who will.

🌟 Making a Difference Together! 🌟
We are proud to announce that our intern, Katie Elmore, from TK Therapy Solutions PLLC and Optimal Change, LLC spearheaded a fundraiser in support of our local domestic violence shelter. With her efforts, we were able to donate a total of 56 items to Quanada. These items will provide support and resources to individuals affected by domestic violence. We want to extend our gratitude to each and every person who contributed to this cause!

Please welcome our new Social Work Intern, Katie Elmore! Katie is a Quincy local pursuing her education in Social Work at Brescia University. Her ambition to become a Clinical Social Worker rises from a life-long passion for helping people navigate life in a way that supports their healthiest and happiest self. Katie feels fulfilled when supporting people through their unique and challenging situations. She has multiple years of experience in the behavioral health field, from clerical work to psychiatry clinical assistance. Everybody has their own opinions on alcohol and drug addiction, but until you've been there, your opinion means nothing. You don't control addiction, it controls you. There are some lucky ones who have beat it, but don't think because they're still alive, that life is gravy. They fight everyday, all day to stay sober and clean. It's a constant battle from the time they open their eyes until they close them, and it never goes away. Most are good people who made a bad choice. Battling an addiction is a beast for the person addicted and the ones who love them. So, in loving memory of every family member and friend who has lost their battle with addiction, and those who continue to conquer it, put this on your page if you know someone who has or had an addiction.💔🙏🏻❤
