Radiologic technologists are medical professionals who perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as x-ray examinations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, and computed tomography (CT) scans. Some radiologic technologists specialize in specific techniques such as mammography, nuclear medicine imaging, bone densitometry, fluoroscopy, or sonography.

“I chose radiology because I knew I was interested in working in healthcare, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to specifically do. After doing some research, I noticed that radiology had a lot of opportunities within one field. Knowing that I could go multiple different career routes in the future, really sold me to radiology!”

“In radiology, we are the eyes that get to see inside the body, what others cannot. I chose radiology because I want to help others, comfort them through the scary times, and help them find what is going on under the surface. As someone who is very clumsy and has had many X-rays herself, I know it can be scary for the patient in the moment, especially when they do not know what’s wrong. As radiology techs, you see people at their worst, in pain, scared, and confused. My passion in radiology is helping find out what is wrong with the patient and knowing I can comfort them.”
