Unwind and release tension with progressive muscle relaxation. This technique helps you relax by tensing and then relaxing different muscle groups:

1. Find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down.
2. Start by tensing the muscles in your toes for 5 seconds, then release and relax for 10 seconds.
3. Move up to your calves, thighs, abdomen, chest, arms, and face, repeating the process of tensing for 5 seconds and relaxing for 10 seconds.
4. Focus on the sensation of relaxation spreading through your body.

Take a moment to reconnect with your body through a soothing body scan meditation:

1. Find a comfortable seated or lying position.
2. Close your eyes and bring your awareness to your breath.
3. Starting from your toes, slowly scan up through each part of your body, noticing any sensations without judgment.
4. Pay attention to areas of tension or relaxation, and breathe into them with gentle awareness.

Start your week with the soothing belly breathing exercise to promote deep relaxation.

1. Lie down on your back with your knees bent or sit comfortably.
2. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen.
3. Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing your abdomen to rise while keeping your chest still.
4. Exhale through your mouth, allowing your abdomen to fall.
5. Repeat for 5-10 minutes, focusing on the rise and fall of your abdomen.

Practicing belly breathing can help you feel more relaxed and centered. Give it a try and notice the difference!

4. Exhale completely through your mouth for a count of 8.
5. Repeat the cycle 4 times.

We offer one-on-one nutrition counseling with our Registered Dietitians to address various concerns including Binge Eating Disorder, Anorexia Nervosa, Atypical Anorexia, Bulimia Nervosa, Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), emotional eating, recovery from dieting/diet culture and more.
