Over the years Sunset Home, much like the long term care profession, has grown and evolved to meet the needs of the local population. Today the Sunset Home campus in Quincy, IL offers seniors residential options throughout the continuum of care-from independent living apartments and villas to the 180 plus skilled care beds in the main building. Their caring staff provides a full menu of services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy; restorative care; skilled and intermediate care; memory care for those residents suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease; and hospice/palliative care to comprehensive quality care to those needing end of life care. Each day the staff at Sunset Home strives to provide a positive, restful place for seniors to enjoy a meaningful life... a vision that has been in place since the facility was founded in 1889. Sunset Home's mission is Sharing the Love of Jesus Christ through Life in a caring community. Sunset Home is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit governed by a community volunteer Board of Directors and is proudly related to the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church.

It has been an extremely busy couple of weeks for us. Carolers, drives to see the lights, games and more, it's our busiest and most festive time of year, thank you to everyone who has contributed to making December a magical time for our residents.

We have completed tours in 17 states, with our most recent visit being Washington; during this trip, we obtained visitor passes, toured the White House, and exercised our right to vote, with Lincoln emerging as our preferred candidate.

It's our favorite time of year! Our gingerbread houses are decorated, our belly's are full, and our tables are decked out. We had so much fun!

Our first light drive of 2025 is in the books! We can't show you everything, but we can give a few smiling faces and a couple places we visited. Thank you again for making this all possible.

Our Thanksgiving feast last night saw a remarkable turnout, and we are grateful for the families who participated. Thank you for your ongoing support and the joy you bring. We are honored to dine with you. To everyone who made last evening's event possible, we cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and loyalty. You are truly a blessing. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

It is that time of year! We are raffling off 2 Baskets full of all the ingredients to complete a Thanksgiving dinner for a family of 4! Tickets being sold at our front desk now, 1 for $1, 6 for $5. The lucky winners will be drawn on 11/24/2025! See pic for details.

This year we are doing something just a little different. Every year, we rely on the generosity of our community to be able to provide a wonderful Christmas to those we care for. Even the smallest items such as soda, or a snack can bring a big smile to a resident letting them know they are loved and appreciated.

To adopt a resident we ask that you stop by Sunset Senior Living's front desk to get a residents wish list from our receptionist. Fill a small box or bag with the wishlist items and have them turned back into the reception desk or activities by Monday, December 15th.
