This community has a long and steady history of providing quality care to the elderly residents who reside there. Over the years Sunset Home, much like the long term care profession, has grown and evolved to meet the needs of the local population. Today the Sunset Home campus in Quincy, IL offers seniors residential options throughout the continuum of care-from independent living apartments and villas to the 180 plus skilled care beds in the main building. Their caring staff provides a full menu of services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy; restorative care; skilled and intermediate care; memory care for those residents suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's disease; and hospice/palliative care to comprehensive quality care to those needing end of life care. Each day the staff at Sunset Home strives to provide a positive, restful place for seniors to enjoy a meaningful life... a vision that has been in place since the facility was founded in 1889. Sunset Home's mission is Sharing the Love of Jesus Christ through Life in a caring community. Sunset Home is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit governed by a community volunteer Board of Directors and is proudly related to the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church.

The fall season is well underway at Sunset Senior Living, where we have been enjoying fall photos, apple "bobbing," and a caramel apple bar. A highlight of our recent activities was a special delivery from Angie Barnes, owner of Momma Bee's Garden. We had the pleasure of traveling to Maine today. Did you know that Maine is the origin of donut holes? Our domestic travels with Steph have become a favorite pastime, securing its position as one of our top activities! We have visited 7 states so far. One of our dedicated tourists is collecting her travel materials to pass on to her granddaughter.

We had such a great time gathering together for some good food, laughter, and fellowship. Not to mention lots and lots of beautiful classic cars.
It was the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful weather and celebrating the end of summer.
A big thank you to everyone that came out and helped make this event so special. We are already counting down to next years.

PSA: Our Front and Northeast Parking Lots will be closed all day tomorrow to prepare for this event. If visiting Sunset during the daytime hours you will need to park on the street as you will not have access to the main parking lot.
