Gastrostars, opgericht door Emma Kok, is de eerste patiëntenorganisatie voor iedereen met een maagverlamming en andere bijkomende lichamelijke aandoeningen zoals een vertraagde of slecht werkende darmfunctie. We willen de kwaliteit van leven van kinderen en volwassenen met gastroparese en andere darmmotiliteitsstoornissen verbeteren. Met deze stichting willen we meer bekendheid genereren voor deze zeldzame ziekte. Mensen met deze ziekte komen door de stichting met elkaar in contact. Patiënten delen verhalen en ervaringen met elkaar en advies en tips. Er moet niet alleen meer begrip voor deze ziekte komen, maar ook meer hulp om met deze ziekte om te kunnen gaan.
