Wood County Health Care Foundation, Inc. 501(c)(3) was formed in 1989 by the Wood County Central Hospital District. In 2013, a donation of $250,000 was made toward the building of the hospital in Quitman, Texas thru a lease with East Texas Medical Center which is currently U T Health, Quitman.
After a period of inactivity, the Foundation became active again. A Restated Certificate of Formation which was approved by the Office of the Secretary of State effective on September 2, 2022.
The Foundation is and shall be operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, religious, and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
The Wood County Health Care Foundation is working on plans and designs to construct a Memory Health Life Center. The complex will be a regional resource open to all educational levels including national research and for the development of brain health care, by focusing on education, diagnostics, treatment, and quality of life, not only for the center’s residents but all those that these services will touch.
