Hymond Bisco Winston was born on July 12, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to LeRoy and Lois (née: McCray) Winston. Hymond developed a strong work ethic, resilience and a sense of duty that guided him throughout his life.
Hymond, while receiving his formal education, proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and later continued his service to his country by transferring to the Marine Corps Reserve. Serving as a Rifleman, he exemplified discipline and dedication. His military service was recognized with several honors, including the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the National Defense Service Medal, among others. Hymond was honorably discharged, having faithfully served his country.
Hymond, affectionately known as “Hymie” by family and friends, “Dirty Red” by his father, was a man whose hands were never idle. In his early years he played the flute at New Hope Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of the late Elder Albert Tenzy Sr. He also became the “world’s greatest” Photographer, he loved practicing Karate and everyone knew that Hymie loved animals.
