In this Crain's New York Business op-ed, President and CEO of VNS Health Dan Savitt underscores why Medicare home health is essential for those across New York and our country.

"Protecting Medicare home health care means protecting your family. It means reducing hospital overcrowding. It means keeping Medicare’s promise to deliver care where people need it most—especially at home."

There is bipartisan, Congressional support for stopping cuts to home health, and voters agree. "That’s encouraging, but lawmakers, community leaders, and families must keep the pressure on."

Hospice is not a place, it’s a way of caring. It can happen at home, in a care center, or anywhere a patient calls home.
Hospice care is about comfort, dignity, and respecting your wishes. Most importantly, it meets you where you are.

National Care at Home Month also recognizes the important work of unpaid caregivers, who often labor without notice or thanks. While the support of home care provides immense relief for patients’ unpaid caregivers, they continue to engage in acts of love, commitment, and compassion while caring for their loved one, often at great personal sacrifice during an already emotionally and financially challenging time.
