😴 Sleep Health After Daylight Saving Time

The transition to Daylight Saving Time can take a few days or weeks for our bodies to adjust. Changes in sleep schedules may affect mood, focus, energy levels, and overall health.

To help your body reset:
🕒 Keep a consistent bedtime and wake time
📱 Limit screens before bed
🌞 Get morning sunlight to help regulate your sleep cycle

Adults should aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night, while children and teens often need more.

Prioritizing healthy sleep habits can help you adjust and feel your best.

💙 Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of screening and early detection.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when screening is done on time. Many people do not experience symptoms in the early stages, which is why routine screening is so important.

Talk with your healthcare provider about when to begin screening and the options available to you.

🐾 Dog Owners – Please Pick Up After Your Pets

A friendly reminder that under Rahway Municipal Code § 141-21, pet owners are required to immediately pick up and properly dispose of their pet’s waste on sidewalks, streets, parks, and other public areas.

Failure to comply may result in fines ranging from $50 to $1,000.

Pet waste is not just unpleasant—it can also contain bacteria and parasites that affect people, pets, and the environment.

Let’s work together to keep Rahway clean and healthy for everyone.

✔ Bring a bag
✔ Pick it up
✔ Dispose of it properly

Thank you for being a good neighbor.

❤️ Testing Saves Lives ❤️

Heart disease doesn’t happen overnight. It develops over time, and early testing can make a real difference.

Important heart health screenings include:

Blood pressure checks at least once a year
Lipid panel to measure cholesterol
Blood glucose or A1C testing to screen for diabetes
Waist circumference and body composition review

If you have a family history of heart disease or conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure, talk with your healthcare provider about whether you need more frequent screenings.

Prevention starts with information. Knowing your numbers is the first step toward protecting your heart. ❤️
