"So... what exactly is a Pelvic PT?" 🤔

It’s the question we get most often at Gadsden Pelvic Rehab!

Think of your pelvic floor like a hammock. It’s a group of muscles that holds up your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. Just like your hamstrings or your shoulders, these muscles can get too tight, too weak, or "out of sync."

A Pelvic PT helps you:
✅ Stop "peeing when you sneeze" (Stress Incontinence).
✅ Reduce chronic hip, tailbone, or lower back pain.
✅ Recover fully after childbirth (whether it was 6 weeks or 16 years ago!).
✅ Manage symptoms of Endometriosis or PCOS.
✅ Make intimacy comfortable again.

We aren't just looking at one area—we look at your posture, your breathing, and how your whole body moves.

This National Women’s Health Week, let’s stop "just living with it" and start healing. 🌸

To the women who give their all, today we celebrate you. 🌸

Motherhood is a beautiful journey, but it’s also one that puts your body through incredible changes. At Gadsden Pelvic Rehab, we believe that "loving your neighbor" starts with caring for yourself. Whether you’re a new mom, a grandmother, or anywhere in between, you deserve to feel strong, confident, and comfortable in your own body.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms in our community!

Making Weekend Progress Count! 🔑
At Gadsden Pelvic Rehab, we build the skills during the week, but the real magic happens when those skills are used naturally at home! This weekend is your chance to focus on carryover.

What is carryover? It’s using the sounds, strategies, or language skills learned in therapy in everyday life.

If your loved one is working on:

Articulation: Encourage them to use their "new sound" when ordering food.

Stuttering/Fluency: Practice using easy, smooth speech in casual conversation with relatives.

Aphasia: Use communication books or apps during family activities.

Need ideas? Ask your therapist! Have a restful and communicative weekend!

Pelvic Pain Awareness Month!!!!!!!

Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men experience chronic pelvic pain? Just because it’s common doesn’t mean you have to accept it as your "new normal."

Whether it’s:
🔹 Pain that interrupts your walk
🔹 Discomfort that makes sitting through a movie impossible
🔹 Pain during intimacy or exercise

At Gadsden Pelvic Rehab, we look beyond the symptoms to find the source. Dr. Jazma Dobbins and our team specialize in calming the nervous system and retraining the muscles so you can get back to the life you love.

May is Pelvic Pain Awareness Month. Let’s break the silence together. 🕊️

It's a new day and a new opportunity to feel your best. Here's a simple Thursday Tip to keep in mind:

When you're sitting, make sure your feet are flat on the floor and your back is supported. A simple change in posture can make a big difference in preventing aches and pains.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! 🌮🎉

We know everyone is heading out to grab their favorite local tacos today (shoutout to our favorite spots! 🌯), but we wanted to take a second to "taco 'bout" something important: Digestion and Pelvic Health.

Did you know that gut health and pelvic floor function go hand-in-hand? Issues like bloating or constipation can put extra pressure on your pelvic muscles.

Enjoy those tacos today—and remember, if your "inner core" needs a tune-up, we’re here to help! 💃

Let’s start Mental Health Awareness Month with a quick check-in. ✋

Take a deep breath. Right now, as you're scrolling, are you:
❌ Clenching your jaw?
❌ Holding your breath?
❌ Tightening your pelvic floor?

Stress often lives in these "hidden" places. Taking just 60 seconds to practice diaphragmatic breathing can signal to your brain—and your pelvic floor—that you are safe.

We’re here to help you find that balance again. Let’s make May a month of healing, both inside and out. 🕊️
