Rainelle Medical Center is looking for a Prior Authorization LPN to work full-time at our RMC location. Duties are as follows:
· Ensures timely and accurate processing of prior authorization requests for healthcare services, verifying eligibility, obtaining
necessary documentation and communicating with payers and providers to facilitate patient access to care.
· Works prior authorizations for all providers including procedures (Ex: CT, MRI, etc.), specialists (ex: infusion center, etc.), and
other duties as assigned to help assist nurse/provider teams.
· Familiar with quality projects and ability to occasionally work quality care gap lists as assigned.
· Develop and maintain (walk-ins and appointments) schedule for nursing visits.
· Perform required screening on patients (vital signs, history, medications, symptoms, etc.)
· Be familiar with appointment systems and eligibility requirements for various available programs.
· Communicate closely with Provider
· Knowledgeable of most commonly encountered diseases
· Assist Provider with procedures as necessary
· Be familiar with all equipment and supplies
· Knowledge of proper use of PDR and other medication reference books.
· Dispense family planning supplies accordingly
· Familiar with packaging instruments and autoclaving
· Counsel patients and provide health education
· Administer immunizations, allergy injections and other medications as ordered (LPN)
· Entering RX into EHR, Sending RX to Pharmacy through EHR or Fax prescriptions as necessary
· Responsible for inputting all relevant patient information in EMR/EHR in and timely and comprehensive manner.
· Responsible for updating Primary Care Provider as needed on patient’s condition and plan of care.
· Responsible for answering phone or in-person inquiries from patients
· Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external
customers
· Proficient in EMR/EHR System
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary
customer service
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed
routines, and standard accepted practices
· Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or medical assisting
· Current WV or Multi-State Licensed Practical Nursing license or certified medical assistant certificate or medical assistant
associates degree
· Minimum two years nursing/medical assistant experience preferred
