The Importance of Giving Yourself Space
Space, as we all know, is the emptiness that surrounds everything...short definition. Have you ever thought about how important this empty area around you really is.
From a physical stand point, if there was no empty space, nothing would be able to move. The universe would literally be one giant ball of matter all pressed together. There would be no existence, since the very basis of existence of movement.
Now, let's translate that into a spiritual sense. If you are constantly filling every second of your day with stuff to do. Or, if you are always in your mind thinking and worrying. Or, if you or always devoting all of your available time to others, and never for yourself. At what point does your spirit have an opportunity to actually breath and move?
All this activity with no rest, or space, never allows you to truly rest for one. Two, it doesn't allow you to separate what is actually important, from what is just distractions. Three, it never allows you the chance to really get to know yourself.
It is necessary to create space everyday. Within yourself, within your life, within you relationship, just in general. This space allows you to recenter and stay balances. You literally have room to breath, to expand, to grow, to change directions, to release. There is so much that you can accomplish with a little space in your day, and with in your mind.
A simple 5 minute meditation is a great start. Even just taking a minute or two to breath deeply every few hours through out your day would work. There are so many healthy ways to create space throughout your day.
