There are many myths out there about birth doulas, so let's clear some things up. There are two common things I hear all the time that just aren't true.

Myth #1:"I want an epidural so I can't hire a doula."

NOPE! Doulas will support whatever choices you make for your birth. And with an epidural, a doula will help you position yourself to keep labor progressing! Medicated or non-medicated. Hospital birth or home birth. Vaginal birth or C-Section. We support it all!

Myth # 2- "My partner will be there, so I don't need a doula." Here are a couple questions to ask yourself:
1.) Has your partner ever seen someone in labor before?
2.) Will my partner also need support around supporting me in labor?

It can be extremely beneficial to have an experienced specialist on hand to help you both stay calm and relaxed. I aim to make it my job to support you BOTH during this journey, and always give suggestions to your partner on how they can help you.

Birth doulas support you no matter what! Whether it’s an epidural, induction, c-section, etc. I am here to support you!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Ka'Tiera and I am a trained birth and postpartum doula to the triangle area. I am a mom of one and I have given birth to two babies as a gestational surrogate.

My hope is to help moms, dads and families feel empowered and confident in there birth decisions. While also being there to hold their hands through an amazing journey to get their baby earth side.

I am a passionate birth advocate. I feel as though you can have the birth you want with the right mindset, knowledge and support.
