Mindful Counseling Services, PLLC

Mindful Counseling Services, PLLC A clinical-private practice providing comprehensive mental health services to NC, GA, and DC. I believe in comprehensive, mindful services.

I joined this profession, as most do, to change the way others feel as they navigate life's challenges. With over 20 years of experience, I aim to support fellow clinicians while they treat clients and their communities. In essence, no one should struggle financially to develop as a clinician or process difficult experiences that impede their emotional and professional growth. This ideology is man

ifested by my client-first framework, evidenced by timely, considerate responses, ethical services, and prioritizing the human above anything else. The mission of Mindful Counseling Services is to provide exceptional, comprehensive clinical services to help individuals, groups, and agencies do the same. A well-sharpened and competent clinician will be able to offer excellent clinical services to their clients and overall team. While I expect the best out of my clients, I preserve a relaxed approach to my therapeutic style.

“Diversity in psychology isn’t just important—it’s essential.” ✨

Dr. Martha Bernal, the first Latina to earn a Ph.D. in psychology, paved the way for more inclusive mental health practices. Her work reminds us that understanding the human experience means valuing all voices and cultures. This Women’s History Month, let’s honor the women who have reshaped mental health for the better! 💡♥️

To love, to uplift, to protect, and to nurture each other in a world that often tries to divide us — that is power. This Valentine’s Day, let’s celebrate the depth, resilience, and beauty of Black love in all its forms. Romantic, platonic, communal, and most importantly, self-love. 🌹

“He didn’t just teach psychology. He taught integrity.” — Kenneth B. Clark

Dr. Francis Sumner, known as the Father of Black Psychology, paved the way for future generations by becoming the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in psychology in 1920. His work challenged racial bias in education and established strong psychology programs at HBCUs, influencing countless Black scholars. His legacy reminds us that excellence isn’t just about knowledge — it’s about integrity, perseverance, and uplifting the next generation.

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let’s reflect on the profound connection between social justice and mental health. Dr. King believed in the power of love, equality, and community, and those values can guide us in prioritizing our mental well-being. When we advocate for a world of justice and kindness, we’re not only fighting for equal rights but for equal access to mental health support and healing for all.

Let’s continue his legacy by taking care of our minds, advocating for those who struggle, and fostering communities where mental health is treated with the same respect as physical health.

Remember: Mental health is a human right, and healing starts with us. 🤎
