My Lipedema story - conservative therapy. In June 2024, I received my official lipedema diagnosis. I was diagnosed with Lipedema stage 2, type 3 (with arms). From that moment, I decided to start treating my condition. My journey started with 5 vein ablations to treat vein insufficiency (very common with lipedema). From there, I met with to discuss potential surgeries. Dr. Wright also diagnosed me with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome hypermobility (also common with lipedema). Dr. Wright and I discussed my options and I decided to try conservative therapies. I started wearing prescribed compression every day, used my most days and switched my diet to a more anti-inflammatory diet. I also did MLD sessions, dry brushing, vibration plate and rebounding. After seeing some positive results with this regimen, I decided to hold off on surgery for now. This has been my journey. As you can see the results have been outstanding, Conservative therapy can work! Consistency is key. I still have pain and swelling…but much less than before. This is a vulnerable post for me, but I want to show that lipedema can be treated and managed. I am happy to share my story, please reach out if you are looking for guidance in managing your lipedema symptoms.
