Fabulous RARE Therapeutic Horticulture Employment Opportunities!
FOUR different part-time opportunities to be a part of the growing Juvenile Justice THERAPEUTIC GARDEN SERVICES across the state of NC! All 4 positions are serving youth (ages 13-18), through their voluntary participation in weekly garden groups at specific Youth Development Centers.
Impact the lives of at-risk youth through a uniquely positive engagement they enjoy and look forward to! Empower them to continue growing when back in their home communities for a life-time of benefits. A few quotes from some of the students: “[The garden] brings happiness to me when I feel angry.", "When I’m out there, I let everything go. Fly right away from me. The plants taught me to be patient and wait. Something beautiful [or delicious] is going to grow.”, “Being in the garden makes me feel great about myself. That I never felt before. It makes me want to start one of my own.”, “When I’m pulling weeds it help[s] with my bad temper. If I feel myself on a bad note I can pull more weeds!”, “[The garden] takes all your pain and worry away.”
