We’ve officially entered the “distracted nursing” phase. And it’s…. something!
Here’s some tips if you’re in this phase too:
•Go to a dark, quiet room (I know not always ideal but does help)
•Adding in movement, bouncing on a ball, walking around
•Nurse while baby wearing
•Try feedings when baby is going down for a nap or waking up
Remember - your baby should be getting pretty efficient when they are 3-4months and older so it’s possible they have very quick feeds (like less than 5-10min) so don’t be surprised if they only want to latch for a short time. This is developmentally appropriate and expected! They are busy taking in the world around them!
