WakeMed paused to honor the gift of life. 💙

Today, teams across our hospitals came together for our annual Pause to Give Life event, raising the Donate Life flag at 10:08 am, which symbolizes that one donor can save up to eight lives.

In 2025, WakeMed supported 50 organ donors — becoming only the second hospital in the HonorBridge service area to reach this milestone — resulting in 162 organs transplanted. An additional 28 organs were donated for research, alongside the support of 87 tissue donors, leading to 176 tissue grafts recovered.

We’re grateful to HonorBridge for leading this powerful tradition and for their continued partnership in giving hope to so many.
