At our conference: Holistic Horizons: Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Age-Friendly Care that took place on 9-19-25 Associate Director Erica Futrell was presented with flowers because of her dedication to the field of geriatrics/older adults as well as to the conference!

This month we had the pleasure of hosting the 20th Annual Time is Brain: Advances in Stroke Care conference. It was an amazing day of learning. The pictured speakers are Dr. Limkakeng discussing StrokeNet Clinical Trails and Kelly Cobb, a stroke survivor who shared her patient experience.

Congratulations to our CME team for receiving Accreditation with Commendation from the Southern States CME Collaborative (SSCC) Accreditation Review Committee (ARC)! Our team was found to be in compliance with all core accreditation criteria, standards for Integrity and Independence of Accredited CE, and SSCC policies. Additionally, they demonstrated compliance with eight commendation criteria, one of which included a criterion under the domain of “Achieves Outcomes”. Congratulations again on becoming the first North Carolina State Medical Society-accredited provider to be granted Accreditation with Commendation under the new commendation criteria! The AHEC Digital Library (ADL) is a statewide electronic network of resources gathered to support NC healthcare professionals in obtaining current information. The ADL includes collections of specific health specialty resources with access to full-text journals and textbooks and searchable databases, including Medline, CINAHL, and The Cochrane Collection of Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews.

Individuals may access the ADL in several ways:

A free version with limited resources is available to all individuals at https://library.ncahec.net
Many NC hospitals have institutional ADL subscriptions for their employees and medical staff. NC healthcare professionals may purchase yearly memberships for $242 per single individual. For pricing on multiple memberships please contact library staff at medlibrary@wakeahec.org.
