We are pleased to share that Lisa Levine, BS, CDP, has been appointed Interim Executive Director by the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina Board of Directors.

Lisa has been with DANC since 2009, bringing stability and a deep knowledge base to this leadership position. She will continue her role as Senior Director of Programs in addition to her new responsibilities. Lisa brings a wealth of experience with our mission and will lead DANC through this transition with care, stability, and purpose.

Elizabeth Hullender has departed the organization. We’re grateful for her contributions during her tenure.

We’re confident in the path ahead, and thank you for standing with us as we continue to serve families impacted by dementia across North Carolina.

BrightFocus Foundation and Dementia Alliance of North Carolina are joining forces to co-fund a grant to Dr. Todd Cohen at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for gene therapy research targeting tau protein aggregation—a key hallmark of Alzheimer's disease.

This new partnership also includes plans to build a future pipeline of researchers in North Carolina and bring hope to millions of families affected by this disease.
