As a caregiver, it's easy to put everyone else's needs first. You give so much of your time, energy, and heart to caring for your loved one, but your own well-being can get lost in the process.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to remind you: you matter too.
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. It's essential. Whether it's reaching out for support, taking a break, or simply permitting yourself to rest, your mental health deserves attention and care.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice, and the sacrifices of their families, are a profound reminder of the cost of freedom and the enduring strength of those who serve.

At Dementia Alliance of North Carolina, we are especially mindful of the veterans and military families within our community, including those living with dementia and the caregivers who support them with steadfast dedication. We are honored to walk alongside them.

On Memorial Day, we reflect on the importance of preserving stories, honoring legacies, and ensuring that those who have given so much are never forgotten.

Our offices will be closed today in their honor. We will resume regular business hours tomorrow, May 26.

Yesterday, we had the honor of presenting our Top Triangle Walk Fundraising Team, Hearts of SarahCare, with their certificates, t-shirts, and our heartfelt appreciation. 🎉 Tatum, Leigh, and Marcia from SarahCare Lake Boone led their incredible team in raising $8,464 this year to support families facing dementia across North Carolina.

Later, we celebrated Phoebe Brush's birthday with an outdoor popsicle party, and DANC Board member Dion Bennett, one of our Top Ten Individual Fundraisers, joined us for the festivities!

Thank you to everyone who walked, fundraised, and supported the Triangle Walk. Your commitment makes all the difference.
