Cooking for the Kids

Cooking for the Kids Each extraordinary evening brings together two amazing chefs, six delectable courses and food lovers. Behind the scenes: Chefs arrive at 1705 East at 9:00 a.m.

This annual unique philanthropic culinary competition features some of the Triangle's premier chefs competing in the kitchen to win prizes, all benefitting kids in our neighborhoods, across the country and around the world. Cooking for the Kids is a fun, exciting competition among some of the Triangle’s premier chefs where guests and culinary judges decide who advances to the next round. Round One

: January 16-19 | Round Two: January 24-25 | Finale: February 2

1705 East | 1705 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh NC

All proceeds benefit Overflowing Hands, a 100% volunteer-led 501c3 organization serving the most vulnerable children in our neighborhoods, across the United States and around the world. Resources are used to support communities in a special, personal way, from fighting food insecurity to providing clothing, shelter and healthcare to children. HOW IT WORKS:

Each chef will prepare an appetizer, main course and a dessert for guests, judges and sponsors. Each evening features secret ingredients that the chefs must incorporate into the dishes. the day of their competition. They learn the secret ingredients upon arrival and must have menus written by 10:00 a.m. Chef teams are required to surrender all electronic including cell phones, tablets and laptops to the chef refs until the end of the competition to maintain the integrity of the competition. Guests and culinary judges will vote on each course to decide which chef that evening advances to the next round. A cash bar will feature beer, wine and cocktails with all proceeds going to Overflowing Hands. A silent auction will be held throughout the series of competitions. Anyone may place bids on the auction items, and the highest bidder will be determined at the finale. TICKET & EVENT INFORMATION: www.cookingforthekids.org
