It was an honor for us to share resources and speak to over 100 people Sunday at the International Overdose Awareness Day event and vigil in downtown Raleigh.
"Working at SouthLight in the Opioid Treatment Program, I see the impact of substance use daily," says Lauren Ray, a member of our OTP staff, "but as someone who has lost a loved one to an overdose, the day held a deeper meaning. It was a reminder that every statistic, every story, and every life lost is more than just a number...It’s a person, a family, a future interrupted. For me, it was a time to honor their memory and so many others, and help raise awareness."
