Welcome to True Radiance Medispa! We offer a broad array of advanced skincare treatments and cutting-edge laser technology to fit a variety of skin care concerns and anti-aging needs. Our list of procedures is comprehensive, from body contouring and laser hair reduction to botox, hair restoration, skin-resurfacing, bioidentical hormone replacement and so much more. Our breadth and depth of knowledge in combining these treatments allow us to enhance and improve even the most difficult blemishes and signs of aging. Our patients travel from all over North Carolina as well as Virginia and Florida because they know they can trust our knowledge and experience. Our Medical Director, Owner, and Innovator, Dr. Jennifer Yap is an expert in age-management and lectures extensively. In addition, each of our providers has had at least 10-20 years of skincare experience and education. Having performed thousands of injectables, laser treatments, and different skincare services means that we integrate the art and science of beauty to deliver the results you want. We are passionate about what we do! It is our honor and privilege to help you on your journey of being the best that you can be both inside and out. Medical Director- Dr. Jennifer Yap lives in Raleigh. She finished her undergraduate studies at Smith College in Northampton, MA, and soon after completed a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University in New York focusing on wellness and prevention. She felt that a significant source of disease in the US was obesity and improper diet and then went on to Columbia University’s Institute of Human Nutrition Graduate School to understand how to tackle this issue. Inspired to treat people on an individual basis, she decided to pursue medical school at the University of New England so that she could take a holistic approach to medicine. She finished her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and uses her knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and combines it with her passion for nutrition, hormones, and prevention to do age-management medicine. She focuses on weight management, hormone balance, movement and proper supplementation. In addition, she has had extensive training in lasers, skin care, botox, and fillers to complement health and beauty on the inside as well as outside.

Collette Balbero, Lead Esthetician

Collette has spent over 30 years dedicated to her passion for skincare. Twenty of those years she worked as Head of Aesthetics for The Museum Spa and Laser Center. She began her career as a Clinique Counter Manager while finishing her Associate’s Degree in Arts from Broward Community College. Collette then went on to receive her Cosmetologist License in 1981 and was trained extensively in skin care by Joel Gerson, author of Guide to Esthetic Skin Care. She pioneered Medical Esthetics as one of the first Medical Aestheticians in the state of North Carolina. She also served as a National Certified Examiner for Esthetics and as a State Board Examiner. Collette holds numerous certifications including advanced medical skin care, advanced skin analysis, manual lymphatic drainage, advanced microdermabrasion, Master’s certification in microneedling and IPL / AFT laser photofacial. She is a member of the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists, Aesthetics International Association, N.C. Aestheticians Association. She has also contributed to publishing articles written in Skin Deep and New You magazines. Collette is happily married for 32 years with two children and a grandson.
