“I always felt drawn to occupational therapy. Growing up, I was inspired by my Aunt Kathy, an OT who truly loved her work. Hearing her stories sparked my own passion for helping others.

Now, 14 years into my career, I can’t imagine doing anything else. Every day, I have the privilege of helping residents stay healthy, independent, and at home. It’s the small moments, the connections, and the meaningful impact we make that remind me why I love being an OT.”

After a hospitalization, DeeDe Blount (62) turned to the Legacy team at The Hidenwood—and the results were incredible. 💙

With the support of our therapy team—Alicia Moss (RD/SLP), Dawndra Dixon (DPT), Naziirah Vines (OTD), Laura Ringler (SLP), and Jasmyn Gomez (PTA)—DeeDe made remarkable progress in a short amount of time.

Today, she’s back to doing what she loves—independent, confident, and thriving without assistive devices 🙌

Awareness is the first step in prevention.

At Summit Glen in Colorado Springs, our Rehab Director Jessica Calenza collaborated with the local police department to host a Senior Scam Awareness session helping residents understand how to identify, avoid, and respond to potential scams.
