Celebrating Speech-Language Pathology Month with a spotlight on Alicia Moss, SLP at Legacy Healthcare Services. 💙🧠

Alicia brings a creative, hands-on approach to therapy - blending her love for art-based activities like Sticker-by-Number brain games with evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual she serves. Her passion goes beyond the therapy room, extending into community “Brain Fitness” education that helps residents understand the vital role Speech-Language Pathologists play in communication, cognition, and quality of life.

“I love the brain!” Alicia shares. Her work focuses on empowering individuals with cognitive impairments to maintain independence, reduce frustration, and strengthen meaningful social connections with family and peers.

She also highlights the value of professional growth at Legacy, noting how continuing education opportunities - like becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner - have supported her development and enhanced the care she provides.

Alicia reminds us: “We do more than help you talk.”

“As Director of Clinical Practice, it has been a pleasure to meet and collaborate with so many innovative and dedicated Speech Language Pathologists. The work I see happening every day in our communities motivates me to push forward to elevate our Legacy and the life-changing work we do. There is nothing more powerful than helping a person gain their voice back or to be able to safely enjoy delicious food again.
