🌟 SRNA Saturday Spotlight: Jada Edwards 🌟

“The most rewarding part of my SRNA journey has been the ability to grow while giving back. Balancing full-time SRNA studies with tutoring local students lets me make anesthesia concepts engaging and relatable—showing young minds what’s possible in this field.

To pre-SRNAs: stay grounded, stay curious, and trust the process—every challenge shapes you into the provider you’re meant to become.

After graduation, my goal is to provide safe, skilled anesthesia care while inspiring the next generation. Nurse anesthesia drew me in with its blend of critical thinking, precision, and immediate patient impact—where physiology meets purpose and every decision matters.”

Wellness Wednesday 💙
Wellness isn’t just about taking a break—it’s about building a strong foundation that supports you through the demands of anesthesia practice.

Prioritizing your mental, physical, and emotional well-being is essential—not only for yourself, but for the patients you care for every day. Small habits, like setting boundaries, staying connected, and giving yourself grace, can make a lasting impact.

You show up for others every day—don’t forget to show up for yourself, too. ✨

Thriving Thursday 💙
Today, we’re highlighting Kamryn Harris, a second-year SRNA at East Carolina University and one of our newest RRNA members.
Kamryn’s passion for peer assistance and wellness began during her time as a bedside nurse, where she witnessed the demands of acute care firsthand. Now, as an SRNA, she continues to see the importance of support, connection, and a culture that prioritizes well-being for both SRNAs and CRNAs.
We’re grateful to have members like Kamryn helping promote wellness within our profession.

📞 NCANA Member Engagement Initiative
Member engagement continues to be a priority for the NCANA Board of Directors. As part of this effort, Christine Detwiler, DNP, CRNA, District 3 Director, will be reaching out to five members from District 3 each month for a brief phone conversation.
These check-ins are an opportunity to connect, hear your feedback, learn how NCANA can better support you, and encourage involvement within our association.
If you receive a call, we hope you’ll take a few minutes to share your thoughts—your voice helps shape the future of NCANA.
