The fake fall weather we have had recently is nice but all North Carolinians know Second Summer is coming!

🌞 Did you know: Your body can lose up to 2.5 liters of sweat per hour during intense exercise in heat — that’s more than the volume of a 2-liter soda bottle every hour🌡️
When temps rise, your body works harder to stay cool—especially if you're active outdoors. But sometimes, it can’t keep up. That’s when heat exhaustion can strike!
Watch for these warning signs:
⚠️ Heavy sweating
⚠️ Dizziness or fainting
⚠️ Nausea or vomiting
⚠️ Headache
⚠️ Fatigue
⚠️ Cool, clammy skin

💡 What to do:
✔️ Get to a cool, shaded place
✔️ Rehydrate with water or electrolyte drinks
✔️ Rest and cool your body with cold towels or a fan

❗ If symptoms don’t improve, don’t wait—get checked!
👉 Call our office for a same-day appointment if you're feeling off in the heat. We’re here to help you bounce back safely and stay well all summer long.
Stay safe. Stay cool. Stay hydrated. 💧☀️

☀️ Your Daily Reminder: Wear Sunscreen! 🧴🧢
Summer fun is great—but sun protection is essential all year round! Sunscreen helps prevent more than just sunburn.

🌞 Here’s why you should make it a daily habit:
✅ Lower your risk of skin cancer, including melanoma—a serious and sometimes deadly form of skin cancer.
👉 Just five or more severe sunburns during youth can double your risk of developing melanoma.
👉 Studies show that regular sunscreen use can reduce melanoma risk by up to 73%.
✅ Prevent premature aging like wrinkles, age spots, and sagging skin.
Did you know? Most visible signs of skin aging are caused by sun exposure, not just time!
✅ Avoid painful sunburns that can lead to long-term skin damage.

What’s the best way to protect your skin?
✔️ Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every day (yes, even on cloudy days!)
✔️ Reapply every 2 hours when outdoors
✔️ Wear hats, sunglasses, and protective clothing 🕶️
✔️ Stay in the shade when possible—especially between 10 AM and 4 PM

Healthy skin starts with protection!

Call us today if you have questions about skin health or need a skin check!
