Toddler Milk Manufacturers Face Class Action Lawsuits From Parents Over Deceptive Marketing Practices

CNN (8/21) reports that “toddler milks” are marketed to parents “who have been using infant formula as a necessary next step in their child’s nutritional journey, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.” Critics maintain these products “are not nutritionally necessary, may be contributing to childhood obesity, and should not be sold at all.” A 2023 AAP clinical report “called for changes in how toddler formulas are promoted for sale.” Notably, toddler formulas are “not regulated by the Infant Formula Act, nor by the infant formula regulations of the US Food and Drug Administration, said AAP report coauthor Dr. Steven Abrams, a professor of pediatrics at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin.” CNN notes that Abbott Nutrition is among “key players in the infant and toddler formula market” that are facing proposed class action lawsuits over “deceptive and unlawful practices in labeling and marketing.”

✔️ We plan to offer weekday in-office clinics starting in October!
✔️ Patients must complete Phreesia check-in before arriving.
✔️ No pets in the car please — for safety and efficiency.
✔️ Ages 6 months+ only.
✔️ Flumist not available – injectable vaccine only.
✔️ First-time flu vaccine? A second dose will be needed in 30 days.
