Our healthcare teams pour so much into serving others — this was a chance for them to pause, connect, and strengthen the bond that makes our mission possible. 💫

🌿 EquiHealth Volunteers Visit SokoFresh! 🌿

This week, our amazing EquiHealth volunteers had the opportunity to visit SokoFresh, a social enterprise leading the way in sustainable cold storage and supply chain solutions for smallholder farmers in Kenya. 🥬🥕🌽

It was inspiring to see how innovation and impact can come together to reduce food loss, improve farmer incomes, and build climate resilience. The visit sparked important conversations around how health and nutrition begin at the farm — and how partnerships like these can strengthen community well-being from the ground up.

Grateful for the warm welcome from the SokoFresh team and excited for what’s possible when we bring together health, food systems, and innovation for good! 💡💚

About 26% of school-going children in Kenya face malnutrition. At DJA, students receive 2 meals a day for 220 days a year, ensuring their health and focus.

We are incredibly grateful to all our supporters who responded to the call and made this year’s Christmas event a reality. Your generosity allowed us to distribute food bags to families, bringing love, joy, and hope this festive season.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers for their dedication and hard work in making this event a success. From setting up inflatables to coordinating activities, providing health education, and linking families to essential resources like the new SHA health insurance program, your efforts created a day full of impact and joy.

Hosting an event like this—with inflatables, music, and laughter—in the Kambirwa community is a rare and special moment. As an underserved region, opportunities for children to enjoy such fun are limited, but seeing them smile, laugh, and play reminds us that they, too, deserve the very best. These moments empower them, nurturing their sense of worth and hope for a brighter future.

This event is also part of our NutriCare Program, which aims to address the growing burden of malnutrition in school-going children across Sub-Saharan Africa. Malnutrition is a significant contributor to Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) in underserved communities, and this initiative is a critical step toward improving health outcomes.

We are thrilled to announce that this is just the first of two NutriCare events happening this Christmas! With your continued support, we’re spreading even more joy and making a lasting impact in the lives of children and families.
