I had such a fun time at the herbal conference last weekend

I gave it to myself for my birthday

Being around herbalists always inspires me as does being around the plants- tasting, smelling, touching

My herbal dreams are becoming more clear and I can’t wait to double down on this green path to healing

Excited for 2 more herbal adventures in July!

The program result: get your spark back after burnout. Start re-engaging with life again.

All through a body led approach that honors your unique energetic capacity.

I start working with my first client in this program next week and I COULD NOT be more excited to build this out with her!

The first part of the transformation is going from self blame to permission to rest.

We start with understanding how burnout is a systemic issue, not a personal bodily failure. We lean into the discomfort of rest because that’s where re-wiring happens. We build in a tangible rest practice.

I have a spark toolkit that will be bite sized to help you move through the milestone plus weekly coaching calls to support you in your personalized transformation.

I am keeping this as bite sized as I can to fit in a busy life, without watering down the impact of the program.

Right now I am sending some personalized invites but may have capacity for 1-2 more founding clients.

We are taking back our time for magic

I hosted a women’s circle on Mother’s Day and women gave this to themselves as a gift

That speaks volumes to me.

They gifted themselves time to tap into themselves, gather in sisterhood, experience magic, and to let their voice and experience be witnessed.

The grind gestapo and the task masters have tried to rob us and they’ve been doing a good job.

They’ve done so well that we believe it’s normal to be exhausted, constantly busy, devoid of time for ourselves.

We think the mundane drudgery of the daily to do list is NORMAL and that life is devoid of magic, wonder, and connection.

This breaks my heart. I also believe it’s partly why we have such a surge in anxiety and depression among women.

I’ve seen and experienced how life can open up when we take back our time for magic, for what MAKES US FEEL ALIVE

I’m on a mission to guide women in taking back their time for magic. It was always yours, it’s just been stolen from under our noses and we’ve been gaslighted to believe otherwise.

I’m going to be sharing how I’ve started to slay these villains and taken time back for magic. I’ll also be introducing a program to help you do the same.

I’ve been circling around why so many of us suffer from “everything i do for myself always falls off as soon as life gets busy.”

that might be swimming, yoga, reading a book on your porch, cooking a delicious meal, journaling, going to girls night…you name it- ANYTHING that give you energy, passion, excitement, joy, health, or peace

Why do these disappear off the calendar like some elusive ghost that slips through your fingers as soon as work and family demands mount?

I noticed this for so long in my life and it was a huge factor in leading to my burnout

I work with women everyday who suffer from serious anxiety and the root- all this stuff is gone out of their life. There is ZERO space on their calendar for THEM. It’s like they exist to serve others.

so yea anxiety is a normal response!

Then I found the term “Human Giver Syndrome” popularized by the Nagaski sisters in their burnout book that likely compiled many other ideologies and theories.

and it all clicked.

In short- The idea is that human givers (women) exist to give everything that they are and everything they have to others (the human beings). AND we have to look pretty, be nice, calm, happy, composed, generous, and attentive to others while doing it. To do anything else is selfish, against the natural order, and we deserve punishment for acting in any other way.

So if there is giving to be done (hence the busy schedule) we HAVE to get rid of anything for us because that has to come last for us to stay safe. If we do something for us INSTEAD, while there is still giving to be done, that feels horrible, dangerous, and uncomfortable.

Those negative feelings of course would drive our behavior because our nervous system wants to keep us safe and secure.

This is insidious yet pervasive in our culture. It is like a virus that perpetuates its own existence.

The power of this awareness is RELIEF- I see now why i was doing what i was doing. this was my first step in changing my behavior. Not by fixing myself but realizing the larger system at play. it gave me permission to change.

This Sunday we gather for our May Women’s Circle

The magic of circle is that it can hold it all- power, sadness, joy, grief, lightness, heaviness, tears, and laughter

Because women can hold that. We all are multitudes and we often feel a mix of these

Circle is a safe space to reflect and relax with other women. A place of genuine connection

This month we are exploring the topics of passion, vitality, sensuality and desire but not just from the sexy perspective.

I believe these are VITAL to the human experience so they are not to be hidden. I also believe they go along with that summer, firey and light energy of Beltaine.

We still have spots if you are craving some reflection, relaxation, and connection. It’s a great way to connect to yourself, carve out time just for you, and meet other kind women.

Spent a lovely morning honoring Beltaine and Scorpio full moon

I love the flexibility of my practice.

I shape it to fit my life and my reality at that time

With the help of I had journal prompts, guided reflection, and a tarot spread to support me in walking through the astrology and numerology of this time

I created a simple ritual to set some intentions and open my space

You have the whole month and even until the next turn of the wheel to celebrate the season. You don’t have to rush or feel pressured

I want to post more of my practice because so much on social media makes it look perfect, so whimsical and aesthetic. And if that’s your thing great but it doesn’t HAVE to be

Magic in the mundane is my favorite because here and now is what’s magical. The practice is based in real life and real people

I’m leaning into authentic creativity, courage, and letting my growth happen this Beltaine season. Also making space for emotion and letting my inner fire burn bright.

Happy Beltaine season, I hope you can celebrate the return of the light your own way.

Small moments of rest are critical even on our busiest of days

Our brain cannot focus on a single task for hours on end no matter how much we push or force ourselves

Brains were meant to oscillate between focus, processing, changing activities, wandering, daydreaming

Give your brain a break- you aren’t sacrificing work or productivity I promise. Our brains need the break to function optimally

There are many ways to get this rest and here’s one of my favorites- 5-10 min outside

Nature offers so many benefits to our nervous systems, our blood pressure, and our stress level (and way more)

Even looking at nature does something different to the brain

So take a break, even 5 min. Let your brain unfocus, take some deep breaths, take in the sights, smells, and sounds of nature

These small moments add up to a huge difference for burnout reduction!

If you can’t get outside even looking out a window to nature and letting your mind wander for 5-10 min will work

Your brain and body will thank you!

Walking in nature using all 5 senses is a way to calm the brain and nervous system.

Great way to reduce stress, ease depression and anxiety, boost creativity and problem solving.

I encourage you to try it- no headphones, no talking (except to nature) and get all 5 senses involved. Touch things as long as you know they are safe, listen for subtle sounds, peer into small holes or look at something up close.

Our nervous systems were developed in nature and she is such a powerful healer. You can also do this sitting in nature if walking is challenging.
The book Nature Fix goes over some fascinating science behind why we feel better in nature. Not that we ever needed it, but I like to nerd out
